A Beautiful Bedroom!

Funky Junk from the Country @ The Maumee Antique Mall

When someone purchases your refinished furniture, you always wonder.....what will that piece look like in it's new home?

Well, wonder no more.  I sold several pieces of furniture last spring to Janice.  When  she called me later asking if I had a corner cabinet for sale and would I paint it to match, I couldn't resist. So happens, I had just purchased one, that I would soon be painting and customizing for Janice.  She knew what she wanted and I painted, waxed it and added French typography to the cabinet to her style!  When she came to pick up the cabinet she asked me if I would paint a couple of mirrors to match her pieces.  Again, I couldn't resist.

Janice would wallpaper her bedroom and search for a fabulous bed and bedding to complete her room.

I asked Janice to please send me pics when she was done!  Fast forward to the new year and Janice has sent me pics of her beautiful bedrRoom makeover.  Gorgeous, simply chic & shabby!  I love it!  So my style and Janice's style too!

Wait no more here are pics!

Best of 2014 Painted Furniture & French Typography

A 2014 Favorite Dresser

Where did the year go?  It's now December 29th, time to reflect on a year of growth and change.

It has been an interesting year, where to begin......

We had an incredibly long winter to start the 2014 year off.  Our area, N.W. Ohio was given the distinction of the worst winter weather in the United States!  My day job, which never closes {{ha!}}, closed for four different days due to bad weather.  So snow meant a day in the studio painting!

Fast forward to the spring, I broke my left arm in two places! That put me back quite a few weeks.  Painful, a lot of sleeping and rehab.

Vacation was a blast, we traveled with five other couples on motorcycles to the Blue Ridge Parkway down south.  It was wonderful to be able to get away.

I was super excited to do a demonstration for Toledo Woodcraft on milk paint techniques. It was well attended and they have asked me back for a ladies night project in 2015!

Lots of auctions, garage sales, flea markets and barn sales.  Picked up plenty of fabulous furniture and junk of course.

I was featured on The Graphics Fairy with my french typography commode.  It was one of the Best Painted Dressers!  That was so cool!  At Halloween my antique mall decorations were featured again on The Graphics Fairy website!  Yeah!!

Featured on The Graphics Fairy Best Painted Dressers!

A trip in November with my girlfriend, Tonya to a wholesalers show in Columbus, Ohio was a blast!  Lots of ideas and purchases for my spaces at the antique mall.

Lots of super cool crafts and fun projects all year long!  My door knob Christmas trees and my vintage oil can ornament holders were a huge hit!

Holiday parties, full of family and friends finishes out my year.

Now my favorite painted pieces of furniture for 2014!

Wow, this is almost half of the painted furniture I did this year! WOW!

Thank you for your support throughout 2014!

Bringing Home the Christmas Tree

What do you do when you love to collect old trucks and bottle Christmas trees?  The tree goes in the truck bed and you are all set!

And then check out these tiny VW Bugs!  I purchased them at a flea market a year ago and held onto them.  I knew I would find a use for them!  They are the cutest!
I can't resist!  I love old red trucks!  Even the big ones!

I love any color for an old truck!  Everyone loves this truck, it must be the color! 💙💚💙

Last but not least, my big red truck.....better known as the Funky Junk Truck!
Hope you enjoyed my trucks & trees tour!

Peace, love & junk,

Deck the Shack

Deck the Shack

Welcome to our shack in the woods.  My hubby, Mr. Funky Junk from the Country built this amazing one room shack just outside our woods in our backyard.

The story behind our little shack goes a little like this.......We went to Indiana to look at an old rusty pick up to use as yard art.  We ended up purchasing two old rusty pick ups, an old flat bed truck and a vintage bicycle basket.  Three trips to Indiana in the fall and an idea was born.  The gentleman that we purchased the rusty trucks from had a little shack that he had built next to his barn.  It was a one room shack built with old windows, an old door and shutters. We peeked through the windows to see a table and six chairs, several empty bottles from a leftover party and cards on the table.  Apparently it was definitely a man cave.

During those three round trip rides to Indiana my hubby had plenty of time to plan his own little shack.

Fast forward several years...... You will find us out back enjoying the shack in the spring, summer and fall with friend.  The "L" shaped porch is tiny, yet perfect for a vintage rocker or two.

My hubby searched Craigslist for the old windows and the door was a roadside resue, free! A green metal roof and solar power. Yes, it has lights and a stereo system.  Can't live without old time rock n roll music playing in the woods.

So check out our shack decked for the  holidays!

Thank you for stopping by our little shack decorated for Christmas!
